J.M. Darhower, the Mistress of Mob stories, has just sprung a big surprise on us!
If you’ll recall, the Monster in His Eyes series followed Ignazio “Naz” Vitale, a mobster hell-bent on revenge, and the complications that arose when he fell in love with one of his targets, Karissa Reed.
After much a whole lot of turmoil, the last time we left Naz and Karissa, things seemed pretty wrapped up. Naz was officially out of the mob business and, despite all the rage and vengeance between then, Karissa agreed (again) to marry to him. In fact, while in Vegas (after some pretty vigorous shower sexy times), she accepted his proposal (this time with his mother’s ring) and they get married that very night. To be honest, I felt good. Sure, the story was dark and twisty, even painful at times, but it was also sexy and compelling. When J.M. first wrote Monster in His Eyes, we knew that it would be a duology. So, with the end of Torture to Her Soul, I was satisfied… or so I thought.
Today, J.M. made a surprise announcement that’s sending her readers (me included!) into a frenzy. She will be releasing a THIRD book in the Monster in His Eyes series, titled Target on Our Backs. O.M.G. Target on Our Backs is going to be a doozie! Can we talk about “nobody’s promised an infinite number of tomorrows”??? Does this mean someone is actually going to die? Why can’t Naz and Karissa have nice things? Who’s coming after them… maybe someone who wants revenge for Ray’s death?
I thought I was satisfied after Torture to Her Soul, but after reading this synopsis, I realize there are so many questions left open. I’m HELLA glad that J.M. has decided to give them to us 🙂
