During their TCA 2016 panel, STARZ announces an April 2016 premiere date for Outlander Season 2. Check out a new video teaser and images from the upcoming season.
Sassenachs, we’ve been waiting for an official premiere date for Outlander‘s second season. The teaser trailer and sneak peeks we’ve already received during December’s Outlander Offerings, indicated that the show would be back in Spring 2016. However, today, we got more details!
At the Television Critics Association winter press tour (Pasadena, CA), STARZ shared that Outlander would return in April 2016! Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Ronald D. Moore, and Diana Gabaldon attended the panel and spoke about what fans could expect in the upcoming season.
They also debuted a new “in-production now” video from Season 2, where Ron, Sam, and Cait discuss Jamie and Claire’s life in Paris and their plans to prevent the Jacobite rising and extinction of the Highland way of life after the Battle of Culloden. We see that their attempts to negotiate Parisian high-society and change the future create a strain in Jamie and Claire’s relationship. Check out the two-minute video below:
Is anyone else grinning? Goodness, this show is so visually stunning—the architecture and gardens, the clothing, Sam and Cait 😉
It seems that even though Jamie and Claire are looking for a new beginning, they’ll really struggle to escape the past and perhaps even alter the future (e.g.those glimpses of Jamie and Dougal leading their fellow Highlanders into battle). Jamie in particular seems to find the scheming difficult to handle.
