PHOTOS/VIDEOS: “The Walking Dead” Midseason Finale Airs TONIGHT

November 29, 2015 By T.J. Leave a Comment

The Walking Dead midseason finale is upon us and there is no doubt it’s going to be a crazy episode.

Tonight, The Walking Dead: season 6, episode 8 “Start to Finish”, directed by Michael E. Satrazemis and written by Matthew Negrete airs on AMC at 9 PM ET/PT. This episode is also the mid-season finale and with the way things have gone for the Alexandria gang during season 6, we are certain TWD will leave us with a huge amount of feelings. Let’s have a recap with some pivotal moments that transpired during the first half of the sixth season of The Walking Dead.

We begin the season with Rick and (Andrew Lincoln) fellow Alexandria residents trying to lead a herd of walkers from the quarry passed Alexandria. With a few mishaps in the plan, the herd is successfully making their way out of the quarry and along a designated route. However, tragedy strikes when the Wolves attack Alexandria. The wolves are killing everyone they come in contact with. To help ensure their victory they attempt to ram the wall with a rig, but this is thwarted when Spencer (Austin Nichols) kills the driver, but in doing so the driver dies on the horn of the truck. The loud horn noise pulls the herd away from the path and towards Alexandria.

If the Wolves and the herd of walkers isn’t enough for the Alexandria crew to deal with, they also have an obscene amount of distrust among the group. Some of the Alexandria residents distrust Rick and his crew and feel that Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh) is off her game since Pete (Corey Brill) killed Reg (Steve Coulter). Deanna is definitely off, but she is dealing with seeing her husband murdered before her eyes. Plus, the reality that the world they created for themselves within Alexandria isn’t as safe as they thought it was. Descension among the crew, a herd of walkers is headed for Alexandria, the only highlight so far is that the Wolves have been ousted, except one lone member that Morgan (Lennie James) has trapped and is trying to reform.

Morgan’s hope for transformation from this Wolves’ member stems from his time with Eastman (John Carroll Lynch) and his ability to get Morgan to feel again and to see the value in life again. But the strategy that Eastman put in place isn’t working for Morgan’s trial run. If having this ticking time bomb wasn’t scary enough for the folks, Glenn (Steven Yeun) hits a major snag when he and Nicholas (Michael Traynor) get separated from the group attempting to race back to Alexandria, and Nicholas kills himself and drags Glenn into group of walkers, where we see Glenn screaming as blood pools on top of him.

It took three episodes of The Walking Dead before we found out Glenn’s fate. This was extremely hard on TWD fans because we didn’t know what happened to Glenn and Steven Yeun’s name was removed from the credits. If the stress of what has become of Glenn wasn’t enough for the fans, we find out that Maggie (Lauren Cohan) is pregnant. Top that off when Daryl (Norman Reedus), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) are attacked and Daryl is forced to go off on his own. During this time Daryl is kidnapped but is able to escape, only to face a dilemma when he sees that he has taken insulin away from his kidnappers. Daryl returns the insulin and decides to help these individuals, only to have them turn on him and steal his motorcycle and crossbow. We don’t have to fret for long because Daryl, Abraham, and Sasha are reunited and are on their way home. And later, we see that Glenn has survived and Enid (Katelyn Nacon) who left Alexandria after the Wolves were run out comes to his rescue with water. After some terse conversations, Glenn convinces Enid to return to Alexandria with him and they come upon the herd of walkers outside the wall. As hope for Maggie comes with a sign that Glenn is alive with floating green balloons, that hope doesn’t last long when a building collapses and the herd pushes into Alexandria.

Now The Walking Dead midseason finale “Start to Finish” is upon us. In tonight’s episode, the people of Alexandria have to battle the incoming herd in the hopes they can save Alexandria. The Walking Dead: season 6, episode 8 is going to be packed with drama and will surely leave us with a cliffhanger that will make the season 6 midseason premiere of The Walking Dead on February 14, 2016 difficult to wait for.
