Sleepy Hollow returns for Season 3 on Thursday, October 1. Get a first look at what’s to come with the official synopsis, promo trailer, and new character images.
After the way Sleepy Hollow‘s Season 2 finale ended with a reset (Katrina and Jeremy’s deaths; Team Witness reaffirming their dedication to their cause and one another), we’ve been wondering what adventures the third season might hold.
Since learning that Sleepy Hollow would be back for another season, we’ve received several announcements about casting: Orlando Jones will not be reprising his role as Captain Frank Irving; Zach Appleman (Joe Corbin) has been promoted to series regular; Nikki Reed is joining the cast as Betsy Ross, one of Ichabod’s old flames; and Season 3 will introduce another new character, FBI Special Agent Daniel Reynolds, played by Lance Gross.
Well yesterday, we finally got our first look at the upcoming new season with a new promo trailer. In addition to new characters, Sleepy Hollow has a new air date (Thursdays, 9:00-10:00 PM ET|PT) and we see Abby (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod (Tom Mison) have a new look. With that said, our favorite duo is still dedicated to taking on supernatural bad guys. Check out Season 3’s official synopsis and promo below:
Season Three picks up after a disquieting break in the supernatural action. Abbie finds herself at a crossroads and looking for her next career challenge, while Ichabod is eager to learn more about the country he helped to found – beyond the limits of Sleepy Hollow. However, as always, nothing is ever quite what it seems, and the eerie calm will quickly give way to the next tribulation, driven by a surprising supernatural presence that will challenge this duo in ways they will never see coming. With Abbie’s sister, Jennie Mills (Lyndie Greenwood); and the introduction of Betsy Ross (Nikki Reed), a strong and smart woman from Ichabod’s past; FBI Agent Daniel Reynolds (Lance Gross), the new “boss” in town with a connection to Abbie; the return of Joe Corbin (Zach Appelman); as well as the appearance of the mysterious Pandora (Shannyn Sossamon), SLEEPY HOLLOW may never be the same.

I love the idea of Ichabod exploring the world outside of Sleepy Hollow…maybe he’ll even take a vacation! Of course, I hope Abby and Ichabod’s partnership continues to deepen; however, I’m also excited about some of the new relationships like Abby/Agent Reynolds and Ichabod/Betsy (do you think Betsy was obsessed with Ichabod, like he’s led us to believe?).
