ITV shares the official trailer for Downton Abbey Season 6, featuring moments between Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes, Lady Mary and Anna, plus more.
Fellow Downton fans (especially those logging in from the UK), I don’t mean to alarm you, but it’s almost the beginning of the end. ITV recently announced that Downton Abbey‘s sixth and final season would begin airing across the pond on Sunday, September 20. We U.S. fans won’t get to watch the series until January 3, 2016 (PBS Masterpiece), but we’re still able to enjoy the first official trailer!
In the trailer, we get glimpses of our favorite Upstairs and Downstairs characters, all in different states of packing up and bidding goodbye to one another and to us. As if that isn’t enough, in the bakground “Time to Say Goodbye” by Lauren Aquilina serenades us right into a crying jag. Watch the video below:

They really are trying to drive us into hysterics! I love the moments between Mr. Carson (Jim Carter) and Mrs. Hughes (Phyllis Logan), and I’m pretty sure we’re getting a look at their wedding at 0:43 mark. There are smiles, but also lots of tears and goodbyes too…between Carson and Lord Grantham (Hugh Bonneville), Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) and Anna (Joanne Froggatt). With Carson walking through empty rooms at Downton, then shutting the front door on us…I CANNOT.
I’m still hoping that everyone will get their HEA, especially Bates (Brendan Coyle)/Anna, Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael), and Branson (Allen Leech).
PBS Masterpiece announced on twitter that we’ll be getting a special treat THIS Monday, as well *EXCITE*
Stay tuned to @masterpiecepbs this Monday, September 14 – we’ll be unveiling a NEW Downton Abbey, Season 6 video to enjoy! #DowntonPBS
