Harvey is finally forced to confront his abandonment issues; yet, in doing so, he slowly starts to unravel. Preview tonight’s premiere episode of Suits’ 5th season (“Denial”), airing at 9:00pm ET|PT on USA Network.
The last time we were with our favorite NYC attorneys in the world of Suits: Louis (Rick Hoffman) was now a name partner at the firm (Pearson/Specter/Litt); Donna (Sarah Rafferty) decided she would leave Harvey (Gabriel Macht) to become Louis’ secretary; Jeff Malone (D.B. Woodside) had broken up with Jessica (Gina Torres) and left the firm; and (in a happier development) Mike (Patrick J. Adams) and Rachel (Meghan Markle) were now engaged!
So as we pick up with Suits‘ fifth season, we find that relationships are being redefined and everyone is trying to adjust to the new circumstances. In tonight’s premiere episode “Denial”:
In the Season Five opener, Harvey has difficulty adjusting to changes around the office, which affects his ability to do his work. Donna must acclimate to working for Louis, who’s certain it’s only a matter of time before she returns to Harvey. Mike and Rachel must decide how and when to share their big news, but their excitement about their future together will take a back seat to Harvey and Mike’s latest case. Pearson Specter Litt has scored a hard-fought victory, but the fight has left the firm shaken. Although she avoided jail time, Donna has left Harvey after more than a decade of working together. She is now working for his long-time rival Louis. And while Jessica readjusts to being single, Mike and Rachel are giddy after his marriage proposal. (via IMDB)
The teaser of the upcoming show definitely confirms that Harvey and Donna are splitsvlle. Douis/Lonna seems to be the new dream-team at Pearson/Specter/Litt and, of course, Louis is going to throw it all up in Harvey’s face. We also see that Mike and Rachel’s engagement might not stay a secret for long:

Harvey Specter unravelling?! I can’t imagine… If we’re going to tackle Harvey’s abandonment issues, I wonder if this means we’ll get some more flashbacks, maybe even of his mother?
