In tonight’s episode “The Dance of Dragons” written by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and directed by David Nutter:
Stannis (Stephen Dillane) confronts a troubling decision. Jon returns to The Wall. Mace (Roger Ashton-Griffiths) visits the Iron Bank. Arya encounters someone from her past. Dany reluctantly oversees a traditional celebration of athleticism. (via HBO)
The Entertainment Weekly‘s Spoiler Room has a few more juicy details about the upcoming episode—Dany and Ser Jorah may come face to face again and in Dorne, Uncle/Papa Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) may not make it back to King’s Landing:
Dany presides over the grand opening of the fighting pits, with Ser Jorah among the gladiators, in a scene that includes a major sequence from GRRM’s books. Also, Jaime and Prince Doran have dinner, where the prince must decide Jaime’s fate. Oh, and Arya’s oyster girl disguise task takes an interesting turn.
In the preview for “The Dance of Dragons” (below) we see that Jon and the Wildlings he brings from Hardhome might not be welcomed back to Castle Black with open arms; Prince Doran (Alexander Siddig) asks Jaime to swear allegiance to him (does this mean he’ll be staying in Dorne for an extended period?); and contrary to Ser Davos’ (Liam Cunningham) advice, it looks like Stannis will push forward towards Winterfell:
Am I the only person still hoping and wishing that Dany will forgive Jorah?! Even now I still do…if Varys is Team Dany and Jorah was spying for Varys, doesn’t that mean we’re all friends??? I’m also excited to see more about Arya/Lana’s new undercover mission.
