Jesse Andrews book Me and Earl and the Dying Girl has been adapted into a film that Fox Searchlight will release on June 12, 2015. Get more details about the movie and check out the official poster and trailer below.

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews, published by ABRAMS, put the literary world in a wonderful tizzy when the book came out on March 1, 2012. Now this reader’s delight and critically acclaimed, young adult novel has been adapted into a film. Fans of the writing style of Jesse Andrews will be delighted to know that the American novelist took on the task to write the screenplay for the film being brought to us by Fox Searchlight on June 12, 2015. Directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon and stars Thomas Mann, Olivia Cooke, RJ Cyler, Nick Offerman, Molly Shannon, Jon Bernthal, and Connie Britton, dazzled audiences at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl went on to win the 2015 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award and will surely endear many to its quirky and lovable cast of characters upon its nationwide release.

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is the uniquely funny, moving story of Greg (Thomas Mann), a high school senior who is trying to blend in anonymously, avoiding deeper relationships as a survival strategy for navigating the social minefield that is teenage life.  He even describes his constant companion Earl (RJ Cyler), with whom he makes short film parodies of classic movies, as more of a ‘co-worker’ than a best friend. But when Greg’s mom (Connie Britton) insists he spend time with Rachel (Olivia Cooke) – a girl in his class who has just been diagnosed with cancer – he slowly discovers how worthwhile the true bonds of friendship can be. Now let’s take a glimpse into Me and Earl and the Dying Girl with the newly released trailer, followed by the official poster for the film.
