Hi there Sassenachs, have you all pre-ordered your copy of the Outlander: Season 1, Volume 1 DVD/Blu-ray? Well, if the promise of six behind-the-scenes featurettes, 21 deleted scenes, and the extended Jamie/Claire scene from their wedding night isn’t enough to convince you, maybe a sneak peek of some of the BTS content from the blu-ray will do the job!
Earlier this afternoon, Outlander‘s official twitter and Facebook accounts shared this video of Caitriona Balfe introducing a preview of the Season 1, Volume 1 blu-ray special features. The actual clip is of BTS interviews with Executive Producer Ron Moore talking about bringing the world of Outlander to life via the show’s sets. We get a look at Castle Leoch’s kitchens and Annette Badland (Mrs. Fitzgibbons) telling us about how genuine the set is, from the hearth to the vegetables and hanging chickens! We also hear from Cait, who agrees that the Leoch set is so realistic, she doesn’t really have to pretend that she’s in a castle:

One of the things I love most about Outlander is how authentic the setting is. I absolutely feel like I’m stepping into 1740s (or 1940s) Scotland. It’s very clear that cast and crew have put a lot of effort into telling these stories in the most genuine way, and I know we fans appreciate it!
