VIDEO: Sneak Peek into Tonight’s ‘The Flash’ Season 1, Episode 13, “The Nuclear Man”

February 10, 2015 By T.J. Leave a Comment

Time to learn more about project F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. Get your sneak peek into tonight’s episode of The Flash airing on The CW at 8 PM (ET/PT).

The Flash that airs on The CW has brought such joy to my nerdy heart. Grant Gustin portrays the perfect Barry Allen/The Flash and when Barry gets within 1,000 feet of Iris West (Candice Patton) my shipper heart beats so rapidly that it appears that it might beat right out of my chest. However, last week in The Flash, episode 12, “Crazy for You”, my shipper heart was tested. Barry and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) decide to make an effort to move on from their broken hearts. Barry from his unrequited love of Iris; Caitlin from her fiancé Ronnie (Robbie Amell) who told her that he doesn’t want Caitlin to search for him any longer.

Ronnie got caught up within S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator’s explosion and became a meta-human. (DC Comics Canon Note: In The Flash and Firestorm comic books series, Ronnie is Firestorm and he is a living nuclear reactor and has the ability to transfigure elements.) Caitlin is trying to heal her heart knowing that a fiancé she thought was dead is alive and wants nothing to do with her. However, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) isn’t ready to step away from the quest in finding Ronnie. His guilt leads him to team up with Hartley/Pied Piper (Andy Mientus) to secure more information about Ronnie’s whereabouts. Cisco is able to do so, but at the cost of Hartley escaping. All the while this is going on Barry meets Linda Park (Malese Jow), a sports reporter for the Central City Picture News and a colleague of Iris’ at karaoke bar. The two hit it off and Barry takes her on a date. Iris appears to be a bit jealous of Barry moving on and me being slightly childish was happy to notice Iris begin to realize she has more than bestie feelings for Barry.

Even with my shipper heart on overdrive during “Crazy for You”, I was truly excited to meet meta-human Shawna/Peek-A-Boo (Britne Oldford). I’m a huge fan of Skins and American Horror Story alumna Britne Oldford. So to see her in this role as the meta-human with teleportation powers who goes head-to-head with The Flash, giving him a run for his money was amazeballs. In the end, Shawna’s love for her scrub boyfriend Clay (Micah Parker) was her downfall. Shawna trying to protect Clay is bested by The Flash and in that same moment Clay leaves her and she get’s locked up in the S.T.A.R. Labs meta-human prison. I hope this isn’t the last we see of Shawna and maybe she can be a helpful resource for the S.T.A.R. Labs team in the future aka Season 2.

“Crazy for You” was also filled with some heartfelt fatherly moments between Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Barry, as well as between Barry and his father Henry (John Wesley Shipp). Many of us were shedding tears as we saw how much Barry loved these two men and how much they love him in return, if not more.

Tonight’s episode of The Flash, “The Nuclear Man” that was directed by Glen Winter and written by Andrew Kreisberg and Katherine Walczak and whose guest stars include Malese Jow as Linda Park, Clancy Brown as General Wade Eiling, Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein, Robbie Amell as Ronnie Raymond, and Simon Burnett as Grodd.

In The Flash, season 1, episode 13 “The Nuclear Man”

After Ronnie attacks a physicist (guest star Bill Dow), Barry and the team realize they need to go after Caitlin’s fiancé who is now a dangerous meta-human. They deduce the best way to track Ronnie is to find Dr. Martin Stein who was working on a project called F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. Barry struggles to balance his duties as The Flash and his relationship with Linda Park, and Joe enlists Cisco’s help to reinvestigate the murder of Nora Allen (guest star Michelle Harrison). General Eiling returns to Central City. (via The CW Press Site)

I’m beyond ready for this episode just based off the great synopsis supplied via The CW. But let’s take a further look into “The Nuclear Man” with an inside look with Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg. Mr. Kreisberg give us some insight into what drama Ronnie and Dr. Stein could be causing for The Flash and Central City.

Also, here are some promotional images from tonight’s episode of The Flash.
