EL James shares the latest #FiftyShadesTODAY clip, which features Christian introducing Ana to his playroom. Fifty Shades of Grey hits theaters next week on Friday, February 13.
Everyday this week, the TODAY Show has debuted a new clip from Fifty Shades of Grey via their #FiftyShadesTODAY segment. So far we’ve seen Ana helping Christian shop at Clayton’s Hardware Store, Christian flipping the script during his initial interview with Ana to find out more about her, and (yesterday) Ana demanding to know Christian’s intentions and him admitting that he can’t stay away from her.
Well this morning, we had an extra special treat when EL James herself delivered the newest sneak peek from the film. The clip (which you can see below), is taken from chapters six and seven in the novel, and features Christian (Jamie Dornan) leading Ana (Dakota Johnson) to his playroom (affectionately called the Red Room of Pain). He’s adamant in making sure that she knows she can leave any time she wants, and Ana just wants to figure out why Christian is being so cryptic:

Of course they cut it off right before we get a glimpse of the Red Room! But I can’t wait to see what the playroom looks like and Ana’s full reaction. In the novel, the next significant scene is when she tells Christian that she’s a virgin, which surprises him (understatement). So it’s likely the film will follow in the same vein.
As I mentioned, EL visited with Carson Daly after the clip and discussed her excitement about the film and the great chemistry between Jamie and Dakota. Afterwards, she met with fans and gave a few of them a pretty awesome gift. Watch the full interview below:

It’s so wonderful to hear that EL enjoys the film and believes it captures the romance and sexiness of the novel. As a fan, it definitely makes me more eager to watch.
