This past week has been really exciting for Jane The Virgin! On Thursday, December 11, the Golden Globe nominations were announced and Jane the Virgin has been nominated for the “Best Comedy Series” award. In addition, Jane herself, the gorgeous and hilarious Gina Rodriguez is nominated for “Best Comedy Actress”! We LOVE Jane the Virgin here at We So Nerdy–it’s a perfect combination of humor, drama, and romance, so we’re really glad to see the show get this recognition. CONGRATS to the cast, crew, and The CW–JTV deserves all the awards!
And speaking of humor, drama, and romance, last week’s episode definitely had all three. In “Chapter Eight” Luisa (Yara Martinez) returned to Miami to face her malpractice suit after having a spiritual revelation. She tried to convince Rose (Bridget Regan) to confess their affair to their family, but unfortunately, Rose threw Luisa under the bus by suggesting she was having a mental breakdown.
In the mean time, Jane and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) were getting closer, when she admitted to him that she was still a virgin. Perhaps understandably, Rafael was shocked, which made Jane wonder if their relationship was for the best. And unfortunately, due to Petra’s (Yael Grobglas) meddling, Jane walked in on Rafael in a compromising position with a paid escort! You know, as soon as that lady offered Rafael her drink, I knew there would be trouble. I’m just glad that the escort told Jane the truth about being paid to pretend she had sex with him. So, by the end of the episode, Jane and Rafael had reunited, promising to be there for one another and the baby. However, the narrator suggested that, even now, the Jafael HEA might not be so easily achieved.

Xo meets her idol when she attends an awards show with Rogelio, Jane and Alba. Meanwhile, a secret of Petra’s is uncovered by Jane and Rafael, leading them to worry about how she really feels regarding the baby. (via TV Guide)

How odd that Michael suspects Rafael of being involved with Sin Rostro! I don’t think that’s really true, but maybe someone else at the hotel is…like Lachlan (Michael Rady). Of course Petra is up to no good. She’s still trying to drive a wedge between Jane and Rafael, and I think these two are right to be suspicious of Petra. And it’s great that Xo (Andrea Navedo) meets her musical idol Paulina Rubio! Maybe there’s a duet in our future…
