It’s been two weeks since we got some TVD goodness, so let’s take a look into The Vampire Diaries, season 6, episode 9, “I Alone,” airing tonight on the CW at 8/7c.
Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Ms. Cuddles bonded last week when he, teddy number #1, Stefan (Paul Wesley), and Alaric (Matthew Davis) went to Portland, Oregon looking for the Ascendant to bring Bonnie (Kat Graham) back from the prison world. While the boys were being messed with by the crazy-witch daddy of Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) and Kai (Chris Wood), we got a walk down memory lane regarding the Gemini Coven during Caroline’s (Candice Accola) unsuccessful Friendsgiving. SO much information was thrown at the fans during the episode. But my one takeaway is the Gemini Coven really needs to figure out how someone can lead their coven without having to merge with their twin sibling (which kills them) to absorb their power. I heard the word “merge” so much during season 6, episode 8, “Fade Into You,” that I almost missed Kai being Kai and stabbing Bonnie and leaving her alone in Portland, Oregon without transportation.

Damon gets into trouble when he carries out a plan that requires Alaric’s unwilling participation; Elena is surprised by Jeremy’s reaction when she shares hopeful news about Bonnie; Matt takes matters into his own hands when Enzo’s actions cross the line; Kai continues to be a dangerous threat. Damon’s willingness to get Bonnie back, even though he had to compel his bestie to aide in his plans, warms my Bamon heart. And reading that Matt (Zach Roerig) is fed up with Enzo’s (Michael Malarkey) murderous ways and is ready to take action should make for good TVD TV.
Now onto the videos! First up, executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries takes us into another episode. We see Sarah (Gabrielle Walsh) meeting Uncle Stefan and how this strikes a fancy chord with Enzo and Damon and Elena make their way over to the prison world as Kai makes it back to the present day. In this second sneak peek video into “I Alone,” Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) have some Gilbert sibling time and we see that Jeremy has finally gotten to the point of moving on from losing Bonnie. In the final video, we get to see photos stills from tonight’s episode.
