Preview tonight’s brand-new season 1, episode 9 of black-ish, airing on ABC at 9:30pmET.
Thinking about the Thanksgiving episode of black-ish still makes me chuckle! I think the relationship between Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) and Mama Johnson (Jenifer Lewis) was brilliant, and watching Dre (Anthony Anderson) try to negotiate the tension between his wife and mother was particularly hilarious. And, of course, who could forget awesome one-liners like “This is Zulu-Cherokee blend. I don’t let anyone hot comb out my heritage” and “It was an over-the-cover-biscuit-nap!”
Did anyone else notice that Pops (Laurence Fishburne) didn’t make a single appearance in the episode? Are things that contencious between Mama and Papa Johbnson that he would disapear over Thanksgiving just to avoid her? Here’s hoping that Jenifer Lewis will reprise her role and we’ll get more background about that relationship!
In tonight’s new episode of black-ish, “Colored Commentary,” the Johnsons keep the hilarity coming:
Dre wants “Team Johnson” to feel more connected and have each others’ backs, but ends up creating a problem for himself when he falls short of Bow’s expectations. Meanwhile, Zoey and Andre Jr. are tasked with babysitting the twins, a job they would rather not do. (via TV Guide)
