Preview tonight’s Scandal winter finale episode, “Where the Sun Don’t Shine,” airing at 9:00pmET on ABC.
I’ve spent a lot of time this past week thinking about the last episode of Scandal, and I still have no idea what to say. Ever since Papa Pope (Joe Morton) came into our lives, I’ve feared him, but I’ve never thought that he’s more formidable than Liv (Kerry Washington). He might be Command, but she’s Olivia Pope, #1 Gladiator, HBIC. There’s nothing Liv can’t handle. So when she puts her mind to taking her father down, it doesn’t even occur to me that she could fail.
Sure, her teammates are arguing like school girls, which isn’t productive. Incidentally, Fitz and Jake (I mean Captain Ballard) are hilarious in this episode. I really want to know how Tony Goldwyn and Scott Foley play some of these scenes with a straight face. When Jake calls Fitz “hombre”…I CAN’T. What’s most clear is that Liv truly loves both of these men. Fitz says it best when he says to her “Is it disloyal to want him… or me?” Of course this is followed by a pretty HOT Olitz kiss, which has me grinning just like Fitz!
Jake and Fitz both have different plans for the best way to take down Rowan, but Liv handles it! She calls Rowan to meet her for dinner, Fitz has the S.W.A.T. team in place and ready to go, and David Rosen has the B613 files and is prepared to prosecute. The everything, totally, utterly, and completely falls apart. I have no idea how he does it, but Rowan knows the plan and has eliminated it. He’s practically disowned Liv and she’s out on her own without her father’s protection.
All I know is that Rowan Pope isn’t human, and I truly fear for Liv, Fitz, and Jake.
And, as if that isn’t enough, Vice President Nichols (Jon Tenney) is working with Lizzie (Portia de Rossi) and Kubiak (Kevin Frye) on something that includes stalking Liv and maybe even VP sleeping with Mellie (Bellamy Young) and playing her false. Add the fact that Javi (Jaden Betts) just saw his dad kill a man, and it’s ALL a mess.
Tonight is Scandal‘s winter finale (“Where the Sun Don’t Shine”), and like the past, this episode will kick everything into high gear:
Danger looms for those close to Olivia because Command can’t be outwitted. Meanwhile, Cyrus feels the ramifications of his actions; and Huck and Quinn finally deduce what Elizabeth’s been planning, but time is not on their side. (via TV Guide)
Kill shot?! Oh my… There really is NO finale like a Scandal finale, and you know tonight’s show will have several jaw-dropping revelations and also open up new questions and mysteries.
