VIDEO: Bow Faces Off with Dre’s Mom in Thanksgiving-themed black-ish Epi!

November 18, 2014 By Funmbi 1 Comment

Sneak peek of upcoming black-ish season 1, episode 8 “Oedipal Triangle,” airing on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 9:30pET.

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner?! I’m definitely excited about having a break–it’ll be nice to be able to spend time with family and friends, and, of course, there’s all that yummy, delicious food to look forward to! One of the other things I really enjoy about this time of November is all the Thanksgiving themed TV show episodes. And this week’s black-ish, “Oedipal Triangle,” certainly takes our favorite parts of the holiday and adds a healthy dose of hilarity:

Dre receives a lot of love from his mom when she pays the Johnsons a visit, and some grief from Bow, who doesn’t get along with her mother-in-law, although Dre’s determined to change that. (via TV Guide)

I love Pops (Laurence Fishburne), but I’ve been wondering when/if we’d meet Dre’s Mom. The Thanksgiving episode is obviously a great opportunity to introduce her character, plus she’s played by the lovely and brilliant Jenifer Lewis!

In this clip from “Oedipal Triangle,” Dre (Anthony Anderson) and the kids sit down for the lavish Thanksgiving feast his mother Ruby (guest star Jenifer Lewis) has prepared. Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) comes home to find out they’ve started dinner without her, and she becomes even more outraged to discover her mother-in-law has replaced all her healthy food with gravy-slathered options:

Oh goodness, these kids are hilarious! And Dre will not be letting go of that delicious food without at fight.

Check out these photo stills from the upcoming episode, and make sure to tune into ABC at 9:30pET on Wednesday night for the all new black-ish!
