Today has been a really fun day on twitter, and this new Insurgent announcement from Lionsgate/Summit is definitely part of the reason!
Earlier today, Lionsgate/Summit revealed that the Insurgent film will be released in theaters in both 2D and 3D! According to producers Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher:
“The second film in the Divergent franchise takes the story and action to another level and, by partnering with RealD, we were able to blend gripping performances and mind-blowing spectacle to create a unique event on screen. We cannot wait to share this experience with audiences around the world.”
I can’t wait either! And to celebrate the announcement, today Lionsgate/Summit rolled out eight (EIGHT!!!!!) new interactive 3D character posters. Starting at 11:00amET/8:00amCT, a new poster was revealed every hour, on the hour! Check them out below:

These posters are amazing–everyone looks so fierce and badass!
