The We So Nerdy Weekly Overview

October 26, 2014 By Team WSN Leave a Comment

It’s hard to believe that approximately three weeks ago we launched We So Nerdy. Thank you for being with us while we tweeted over 2,000 times, put up over 80 posts, sent out 17 launch day prizes, and flailed with us in the comments section of this website. We are beyond grateful for you support.

Even though this week was an extra busy one regarding our personal lives, that didn’t mean popular culture stopped pushing out goodness. Let’s look over what we discussed on the site this week.

October 20

Mondays can be dreadful, but luckily there were plenty of Monday Funnies that could bring a smile to your face. We got an hilarious video suggestion from Kitty_Elvis, that shows a cat wearing a shark costume riding a Roomba vacuum entertaining a baby also wearing a shark costume. That is a mouthful, but so hilarious. Plus who doesn’t love the adorable goof ball Chris Evans? We have two GIFs of Chris Evans laughing like the meatball he is, plus a behind the scenes GIF from Captain America: The Winter Solider that shows Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie “working out.” This GIF should be watched over and over and then dreamt about. Closing out the Monday Funnies was a funny and extremely gross spoof on the Bob’s Burgers cartoon inspired by The Walking Dead, Season 5, Episode 2, “Strangers”.

Monday may begin dreadful for many of us, but showing you all the previews for Gotham, Season 1, Episode 5, “Viper”and Sleepy Hollow, Season 2, Episode 5, “The Weeping Lady”, plus a behind the scenes look from Julie Plec and Michael Narducci into The Originals, Season 2, Episode 3, “Every Mother’s Son” might make Mondays better since you get to see how good the TV will be for that evening.

October 23

As we got back into the swing of things mid-week we gave you a preview of The Vampire Diaries Season 6, Episode 4, “Black Hole Sun”.  That preview let us know that “Black Hole Sun” will have Bamon goodness and a Stelena road trip. Possibly too much gloriousness to handle in 60 minutes. We also got the announcement that Kelly McCreary (Maggie Pierce) has been promoted to a series regular on Grey’s Anatomy, so we’re hoping this means more Mer/Maggie interaction in the near future.  The Season 11, Episode 5 “Bend and Break” focusses more on the Callie/Arizona relationship, and in the preview video and photos, we see them trying to work through their marital issues. In the sneak peek for Scandal’s Season 4, Episode 5 “The Key,” Liv reached out to the White House for help with finding Jake, but Fitz, Cyrus, Abby, and Rowan aren’t feeling particularly willing generous with their time. In the preview for this week’s episode of How to Get Away with Murder, “We’re Not Friends,” we see the aftermath of Annalise confronting Sam about his affair and more details about why/how he ends up dead in the future.

The news didn’t stop after the shows for Thursday night, we let you know about two the new TV spots from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and sent out the news that Buffy and Gossip Girl alumna, Michelle Trachtenberg is set to guest star as ‘Abigail Adams’ on the FOX network hit show Sleepy Hollow. Fabulous news was released that The CW ordered full seasons for The Flash and Jane The Virgin. Our fangirl flails regarding this could be heard around the world if you couldn’t tell by the post. EPIC news in the music world came out when we were able to share with you that Lionsgate and Republic Records released the full tracklisting and the album artwork for the The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack. The artists on this soundtrack are amazing. Can’t wait to hear all the songs.

The world flailed and flailed some more when the Marvel Avengers: Age of Ultron teaser trailer leaked a week earlier than its slated release. It was taken down within an hour, but Disney and Marvel took it all in stride and supplied the fans with the HD version of the teaser trailer along with the image of coming soon poster. So we had to discuss the trailer and our hopes for some possible cameos based on the full cast and crew list on IMDb. Also, we let you know if you haven’t caught SHERLOCK on PBS, get ready for it to premiere on BBC America on Saturday, November 8th at 7/6c. So not only will you get glorious British accents whilst watching SHERLOCK, but during the commercial break as well. w00t!

October 24

Fridays appear like amazing TV will once again make us debate whether to hunker down in front of our TV’s or venture out for a night on the town. Looks like it will be a tough choice for many due to the series recap, sneak peek, and photos  for the Season 4 premiere of Grimm and the show overview, extended trailer, and photos of the season premiere of Constantine we were able to bring you. These shows look so good and we can’t wait to tell you more about them.

October 26

This week NBC announced that Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory) will star in their upcoming animated, holiday special, Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas.

We also posted video/photo previews for Sunday night TV–on tonight’s episode of Oprah Where are They Now, the cast of A Different World reunites after 20 years to discuss the socio-cultural impact of the show. In the sneak peek for Once Upon a Time, Season 4, Episode 5 “Breaking Glass,” Elsa gets closer to finding Anna. And in the preview for Revenge, Season 4, Episode 5 “Repercussions,” Emily confronts Victoria about manipulating her father, while David reaches out to Nolan.
