The other day my boss was driving the two of us up to a conference and somehow we got on the subject of the new show Constantine premiering on NBC tonight at 10/9c. I explained to him that even though I had never read the DC Comics Hellblazer, I am a huge fan of the film Constantine. The film starred Keanu Reeves as John Constantine and was Francis Lawrence feature film directorial debut. It was a visually stunning film that I can watch on repeat. Being a huge fan of the film, I told him I am more than ready for the season premiere of Constantine tonight.
To give you a little background, Constantine airing on NBC is based on the wildly popular comic book series “Hellblazer” from DC Comics, seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine (Matt Ryan, “Criminal Minds”) is armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and a wickedly naughty wit. He fights the good fight — or at least he did. With his soul already damned to hell, he’s decided to abandon his campaign against evil until a series of events thrusts him back into the fray, and he’ll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. With the balance of good and evil on the line?, Constantine will use his skills to travel the country, find the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows… maybe there’s hope for him and his soul after all. (via NBC)

I truly believe even if I wasn’t a fan of the film and didn’t know it was from a comic I would watch the show to see what it was all about. What about you?
