One of my favorite things about Downton Abbey is the yearly Christmas special! Even though the episode doesn’t come out in the United States until around February…and over the last few years the specials have ended with shocking events…I still like to think about the Crawley family enjoying the holidays on the gorgeous estate!
Yesterday, ITV announced that they will be releasing a Downton Abbey holiday album:
‘Christmas At Downton Abbey’ will feature a festive version of the show’s theme tune as well as traditional hymns and carols.Members of the cast also perform on the album, with Jim Carter, who plays butler Charles Carson, presenting a spoken word version of T’was The Night Before Christmas. Elizabeth McGovern – Cora, Countess of Grantham – and Julian Ovenden, who plays Charles Blake, also feature.

The album will include 45 tracks and will be released in a few weeks on November 10. Now we’ll be able to imaging that we’re sitting with Mary, Branson, and Little Sybbie and George while Carson tells us Christmas stories!
Remember that Downton Abbey Season 5 premieres in the U.S. on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 9:00pmET on PBS!
